I changed the name of the house! I kept calling it the caretaker's house because that's what it has always been called but for the next few years we hope to use it more for our guests and part time camp students. So from now on it will be the guest house!
Today was a Monday. I know I am stating the obvious but anyone in ministry understands what I am talking about. We had a wonderful Mother's Day in our church in Liquine. Danny had a special meeting with the church leadership at noon so to make it there on time we didn't go to church in Conaripe. We made it to Liquine on time with beautiful sunny weather but oh-so-cold temperatures. I dropped Danny off at the church and then went to Hermana (Sister) Joba's house. I really hit it off with her. Her son has come to camp as a camper and also has spent some time working there also. Their family has adopted us and always want us to stop by and have something to eat there before the church service. Sometimes it's a fried egg over rice, or maybe some boiled potatoes and bread but this time she had made some special "sopaipillas". These are like fried bread but this time she made them with potatoes. They were delicious!!! We had fun talking and sharing. We found out that our birthdays are one day apart. Her's is on the 14th of November and mine on the 15th. Special!
She wouldn't let me leave her house without my Mother's Day "present". You'll never guess what it is... It's a ROOSTER! But not any kind of rooster, he's a frizzle. Maybe some of you know my new found love for chickens... What can I say, they are such funny animals. Hermana Joba has chickens too and it always gives us something to talk about together. Well, she found out we didn't have a rooster anymore (which was fine with us but anyway...) so she gave me this peculiar looking one. Frizzle chicken feathers grow forward instead of laying flat against their bodies. Basically he looks like he got electrocuted! I LOVE it. He's a very calm and QUIET rooster which is awesome. Can't wait to get some chicks that look like him! So we named him Fritz!
Today, the guys worked some more on the bathroom in the guest house. Danny reused most of the pipes so all we had to buy was an elbow piece. He chiseled out the rest of the concrete and added the new pieces in. Then we poured cement in there to finish it off.
Morgan and Matti helped take out a couple wheelbarrow's full of tile and cement board to the cabin site for fill.
All glued together and ready for cement.
but, first we better test it and make sure it works.

Well, I hope that gives you an idea of our weekend and Monday.
