Rainy Tuesday

Dear everybody,

Boy did it rain today!  We hadn't seen it rain like this in a long time so we really enjoyed it.  Whether it's called raining cats and dogs (English), ropes (France), or pitchers (Chile), well you understand what I mean!  This Thursday we are not going to Temuco so we decided to take today off of school and run to town to pick up a few things at the hardware store.  We also got a few groceries to get us through the week.  Danny and I took the girls and the boys helped Miguel burn tree limbs and brush from the tree falling yesterday.  They worked hard and then it started to rain.

We ate lunch and then the guys got to work.  The plan was to pick up a wood stove and install it today but because it started to rain, they didn't get very far on that project.  Not a good idea to get up onto the roof in wet weather.

Instead, they continued the work in the bathroom.  Once again, they had to add studs to walls to make the sheets of cement board fit.  It means a lot of measuring, cutting and fitting.  Our skill saw was out of comission.  The new bearings were great but then the guys found out that the real problem was the gears that were totally worn out.  So they retired the skill saw and plan to use the motor, which still works fine, for another project.  Today we bought a new skill saw so that we can get the job done next door.

Cement board where the ceramic tile will go, the rest of the wall will be board and batten.

At the end is the shower which will be totally tiled.

Maddie came to visit Daddy at the guest house.

It's getting dark around 6 PM.  There is no electricity in the guest house so we are running drop cords from the maintenance shed.  Danny bought a work light and they used that pretty much all day to see what they were doing.  Like I said a rainy day!  After work they came in for some soup and freshly baked rolls and then it was bath time for Maddie, her favorite!

"See Grandpa, I do have hair!!!!!"

That's our news for today.  Tomorrow, it's back to school for me and the kids.  Danny is trying to get as much done as possible before his district meeting this weekend in Puerto Montt.  Thank you for your prayers.
